Georgetown ISD held on to the idea that it would return to school for as long as it could, but as the coronavirus pandemic grew, the district announced it would remain closed for the school year.
March 16: GISD spring break begins
March 26: temporary closure announced through April 13 March 23: distance learning with optional lessons begins March 31: closure extended through May 1 April 6: graded distance-learning begins April 17: schools closed for remainder of semester
