This spring, there are several festivals and activities planned in the Greater Houston and surrounding areas. This list is not comprehensive.

Cockrell Butterfly Center A butterfly habitat at the Houston Museum of Natural Science has live and preserved specimens of unique arthropods. Family Farm This family farm has pavilions available to rent, garden tours, fishing, seasonal picking, hayrides and cabin rentals. Strawberry picking is available through June, with blackberry picking from April-July. • 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily

Chappell Hill Lavender Farm Located 8 miles north of Chappell Hill is an aromatic lavender farm. Open to the public from March through November, the farm offers tours and cut-your-own fresh lavender services. • Open through November; Thu.-Fri. 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sun. 11 a.m.-4 p.m. • Free (admission)
