MONTGOMERY ISD During a May 16 Montgomery ISD school board meeting, Kris Lynn, assistant superintendent of finance and operations, said the guaranteed maximum price to build Creekside Elementary School and Phase 2 of Lake Creek High School is $1.3 mil- lion under the projected amount. The price for the new Creekside Elementary School will be about $33.5 million, and the price for Phase 2, which increases capacity to 2,500 students at Lake Creek High School, is $18.4 million. Lynn said the savings from these bond projects will go into a fund to enhance, modify, improve or provide additions they could not do otherwise. Both projects are expected to be complete for the start of the 2024- 25 school year, according to a May 16 news release.

CONTINUED GROWTH Enrollment at several Conroe ISD schools is expected to continue to exceed capacity in 2023-24. in the district that are already over the threshold, McCord said. For example, Conroe High School, which was at 99% capacity as of May 1, will be at 114% capacity in August.

CONROE ISD The number of schools overcapacity in Conroe ISD will likely increase when school begins in August, Assistant Superin- tendent of Operations Chris McCord told trustees at a May 16 meeting. Current situation: In March, the CISD Bond Planning Committee began meeting to consider needs ahead of the possible bond refer- endum that could head to voters in November. According to previous Community Impact coverage, 67 schools in the district are operating on average at 102% of their capac- ities with projections indicating it could grow from 71,000 students to 100,000 students or more by 2033. McCord said enrollment in the dis- trict is projected to reach over 73,000 in 2023. The influx in students will cause concern at certain campuses
