More tenants announced for The Grand at 249 More tenants are confirmed for The Grand at 249, the new name of NewQuest Properties’ planned Grand Parkway Town Center. NewQuest acquired the site in the early 1990s, according to an Oct. 9 news release. The land was first cleared in 2016 but has remained vacant, according to previous reporting. Two-minute impact NewQuest was anticipated to deliver sites in October to start construction on the $90 million retail center. Flood basin slated for Willow Creek The Harris County Flood Control District unveiled plans Sept. 27 for a $78.9 million stormwater detention basin project to address flooding in the Willow Creek watershed. The HCFCD did not provide a construction timeline. The background The HCFCD has allocated $45 million for the project from the $2.5 billion bond voters approved in 2018 for flood projects.
