As the population of Williamson County con- tinues to increase with more residential devel- opments being built in rural areas, the county government has updated its comprehensive land-use plan to control growth in order to main- tain its rural character. The Williamson County Planning Commission voted March 12 to approve Williamson 2040, the county’s comprehensive land-use plan for unincorporated areas, after drafts of the plan were endorsed March 9 by the county board of commissioners. Schools in Williamson County are closed for the remainder of the school year.
County restaurants are limited to to-go service only.
Williamson County’s population is expected to more than double in the next 20 years.
