HOSPITAL UPDATE Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital On April 22, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital announced the hospital achieved Magnet recognition due to its nursing professionalism, teamwork and high marks in patient care. The honor, distinguished through the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition Program, places Memorial Hermann Sugar Land in a global community of Magnet- recognized organizations. “Designation as a Magnet facility recognizes the excellence and commitment of our nursing sta and
entire workforce,” said Malisha Patel, senior vice president and CEO of Memorial Hermann Sugar Land, in the release. The Magnet Model provides a framework for nursing practice, research and measurement of outcomes, according to the news release. Through this framework, the American Nurses Credentialing Center gauges an organization’s nursing excellence. The model comprises elements deemed essential to delivering superior patient care, including the quality of nursing leadership, coordination and collaboration, and processes for measuring and improving the quality and delivery of care.
