Council approves $800K for fire station design Denton City Council members allotted $800,000 for the design of a new fire station in the Land- mark master-planned community that will serve the Landmark and Robson Ranch neighborhoods at a Feb. 3 work session. The gist The new facility, Fire Station 10, will improve the fire department’s response time to Robson Ranch, Denton Fire Chief Kenneth Hedges said. The Denton Fire Department has an average response time to Robson Ranch of about nine minutes from Fire Station 7, the closest station to Robson Ranch, Hedges said. The fire department aims for a response time of four minutes, he said. Denton park receives $1.84M for upgrades Denton City Council accepted a bid pro- posal from Northstar Construction Feb. 17 to update Bowling Green Park for up to $1.84 million. Construction will start in March. The details Upgrades include a new pavilion, parking lot and footbridge and are partially funded by the 2023 bond, per the city’s website.
