Local hospital opening dates
Baylor is the largest not-for-pro t health system in Texas, said Ryan Gebhart, president of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Frisco at PGA Parkway. Baylor Health has three other existing locations in Frisco. “Our investment in this 40-acre campus is our answer to the explosive growth we are seeing in North Texas,” Gebhart said in an email. The new Baylor campus will have a parking garage and medical o ce, which is nearly full, that will come online the same time as the hospital with more growth slated for the future. “Every time you blink there is a new building going up,” said Jason Ford, Frisco Economic Development Corporation president, at an April development summit. Frisco Mayor Je Cheney said during a June 10 State of the City event that the medical campus will be under constant phased construction for the next ve to 10 years. “It’s a beautiful new facility,” he said.
Surgical services will include six operating rooms, specialized labs for gastroenterology, bronchoscopy and interventional radiology, along with advanced robotic technologies, Gebhart said. “The campus will feature more than 2 miles of trails, a playscape for families and green space,” he said. “The goal is to blend high-quality care with community-centered innovation— opening a new door to lifelong wellness.” A heart hospital is under construction at the new Baylor campus and it is expected to open in February 2027. “We’re in a unique place that we’re building a campus that’s going to grow with the communities that are around us,” Timmons said. “As they grow, we will continue to grow.”
