LCRA grants provide conservation updates The Lower Colorado River Authority awarded just over $114,000 in grants for two Lake Travis/Westlake-area water utility providers with the goal to save millions of gallons of water annually. The overview A $100,000 grant from LCRA will contrib- ute to the West Travis County Public Utility Agency installation of new high-tech water meters, a project costing $5 million in total that is expected to save roughly 53.4 million gallons of water annually. The second grant recipient, Senna Hills Municipal Utility District, will use $14,609 towards software that enables water pressure monitoring to pinpoint the location of leaks. This is expected to save about 5.7 million gallons of water annually.

Moving forward

Currently the project’s framework is complete, with developers hoping to see new residents moving in by October to the complex geared toward active adults, Wilson said. The complex will feature 210 units, with one and two-bedroom options available. Rental prices will be higher than standard apartments, Wilson said, with a typical 1,100 square-foot residence estimated to cost around $2,700-$3,000 per month.

A new apartment complex in Lakeway’s upcoming City Center development has updated its age requirements as nal completion of construction draws closer. The Jovie Lakeway apartment complex is located in Tuscan Village, a section of Lakeway’s upcoming City Center development, which began construction in 2022. Amendment 8 to the Tuscan Village Planned Unit Development was passed at a City Council meeting held March 17, specifying that the age restrictions on the apartment complex will be removed. The limit would have required 50% of residents to meet a minimum age threshold of 55, according to city documents. Currently, age restrictions prevent many lenders from working with the

A three bedroom, two-and-a-half bath town- home starts at $3,439 a month for 1,733 square feet of space, while a four bedroom, three bath townhome starts at $3,839 for 1,914 square feet of space. Community amenities include a resort-style pool, a dog park, outdoor grilling and picnic tables, and on-site maintenance, according to BB Living’s website. The new neighborhood is expected to open May 15, a news release from the company said.

The project is next door to other housing proj- ects such as Madrone Canyon and The Artesian at Bee Cave, as well as the incoming West Austin Business Park. BB Living is a company that creates build-to- rent, or BTR, neighborhoods, and has a portfolio of 18 BTR communities across the southern U.S.
