High-speed rail connecting Dallas, Fort Worth takes next steps

Pumpkin Patch Fever Plant and Sip Two Brothers Winery will host a guided session where guests create their own air plant displays while enjoying Two Brothers wine. Air plants are a type of evergreen that grow in jungles, mountain tops, and deserts and don’t need soil to survive. Guests can craft unique displays to spruce up their home decor. A series of open houses is scheduled starting Aug. 29 that will offer more information about a proposed high-speed rail linking Arlington, Dallas and Fort Worth. What you need to know The North Central Texas Council of Governments scheduled events in Arlington, Dallas, Fort Worth and Grand Prairie, according to a news release. A short video discussing the project as well as information boards explaining different high-speed technologies and the recommended route will be discussed. The Dallas-Fort Worth High-Speed Transportation Connections Study kicked off the National Envi- ronmental Policy Act review process in September, according to the release. Potential users to learn more about the project, which would make trips from downtown Dallas to downtown Fort Worth in 23 minutes.

Celebrate Roanoke Residents can settle into October by participating in the 26th annual Celebrate Roanoke festival. Planners and engineers have advanced preliminary engineering design for this alignment. A high-speed rail line in North Texas could pro- vide connections with local transportation systems like Trinity Metro and the proposed high-speed rail from Dallas to Houston.
The details Planners evaluated high-speed transportation alternatives, alignments and technologies during the project’s first phase. With the project now in Phase 2, planners will focus on a single corridor with identified station locations while aiming to evaluate “potential social and environmental impacts along the corridor,” according to the news release.
