The Woodlands’ cell tower plans advance During its April 23 meeting, The Woodlands Township board of directors voted 7-0 to award a bid to Diamond Communications for cell tower marketing and management. The gist Community Impact previously reported the township issued a request in December for propos- als from wireless telecommunications companies for cell towers at 10 potential sites. The board’s goals included improving cellular coverage and capacity needs. Township eyes new covenant fees The Woodlands Township voted unan- imously on April 23 to schedule a public hearing May 21 to establish and expand Covenant Administration Department fees. CAD fees will include expenses for permits in both residential and commercial building improvements. The background Community Impact previously reported the launch would generate the township an estimated $1 million in additional revenue. Most of the changes to fees will aect commercial properties with minor changes to residential property requirements. Residents will be able to ask questions if the fees are formally adopted by the township board. If approved, the fees would go into eect July 1.
