ONGOING PROJECTS 1 Timber Forest Drive bridge

3 FM 1960 Segment 2 widening Work continues on a project to widen FM 1960 from four to six lanes between Twigsworth Lane and the San Jacinto River bridge. The project will include the construction of an overpass at the intersection of FM 1960 and West Lake Houston Parkway. According to Perez, commuters can expect a major change in the tra c pattern between Town Center and Rogers Gully in the near future. Timeline: late 2021-25 Cost: $70 million Funding source: TxDOT UPCOMING PROJECTS 4 FM 1314 safety improvements Construction is slated to begin this fall on a project to replace the existing center turn lane on FM 1314 with a raised median between Ferne Drive and South Loop 494. According to TxDOT Public Information O cer Emily Black, the project went out for bids in early July and construction is expected to begin this fall. Work continues on a project to build a new four-lane bridge on Timber Forest Drive where it crosses the Union Pacic Corp. railroad tracks. According to Harris County Precinct 3 o cials, the project aims to improve safety for an elevated railroad crossing while providing a second north-south corridor for residents. Timeline: rst quarter 2021-fourth quarter 2022 Cost: $6.67 million Funding source: Harris County Precinct 3 2 FM 1960 Segment 1 widening Construction is underway on a project to widen FM 1960 from four to six lanes between Business FM 1960 and Twig- sworth Lane. According to Danny Perez, public information o cer for the Texas Department of Transportation, right of way acquisition has been completed, while utility adjustments continue. Storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water line improvements are ongoing, and the rst concrete placement is nearing. Timeline: late 2021-25 Cost: $58.2 million Funding source: TxDOT
