The name of the restaurant is Spanish for “monarch,” and the restaurant aims to embody the spirit of Mexican culture through its food, drinks and decor. “The idea with Monarca is to capture the spirit of the Mexican cul- ture in the food, drinks and decor—to wrap a warm blanket around you and make you feel at home,” owner Mauricio Guerro said in a news release.
