The menu for food features appetizers called “shareables,” family-style servings, personal-sized items and desserts as well as an array of wine to choose from. “We really just wanted to bring in those European roots, the wine, the beer, the food and just the culture,” Rebecca said.

Throughout the shop are seats and tables for dine-in culminating in the perfect setting for a “sobre mesa,” time spent with family and friends at the dinner table after a big meal. The family-owned market and eat- ery was formerly known as Los Oli- vos, which roughly translates to “the olive trees,” but father-daughter duo Rafael and Rebecca Varela swapped the “L” for a “D,” translating to “two olive trees,” which were actual trees gifted to Rebecca’s grandfather years

known as Dos Olivos Market. The Varelas opened the Buda location during the onset of the pandemic at the Buda Mill & Grain Co. nearly two years after the rst location opened in Wimberley. Beyond the Buda and Dripping Springs locations, the Varelas opened a location in Harlingen, near the border city of Matamoros, where Rafael is from, cementing their past and history in their business. Her mother’s side of the family still resides in Spain and helps with the scouting and sourcing of vendors that stock the market. “We really want to keep it local,
