A love for weddings inspired Caroline Berend to open the boutique 30 years ago. Today, her daughters, Amy Hidalgo and Carrie Berend Magliaro, are continuing their mother’s legacy by ensuring each customer nds the perfect dress from among more than 1,000 hand-selected gowns. Berend Magliaro said many custom- ers are attracted to Bridal Boutique because it has a sta of experts with decades of experience. “Our selection is bigger than any other store in Texas,” Berend Magliaro said. Hidalgo said she goes to the market with her sister to pick out dresses for the boutique. “We do it very carefully,” Hidalgo said. “We do a really good job about looking at price points and making sure we have a huge variety because not everyone’s gonna wear the same thing. We get brides that come in from all over, so we make sure that we can cater to all the brides.” The front room of the store has walls lined with postcards from brides from all over the nation with messages of gratitude to the sta for helping them nd their dream dresses.

“It’s rewarding because it’s the most important dress you’re going to wear—ever,” Hidalgo said. “Our sta here aren’t just trying to make a sale. They really are trying to help someone nd the perfect dress that they feel beautiful in. And it’s easier for us to do
that because we have such a big selection. I think that’s what sets us apart.” Berend said

that back in 1990, she never thought that her business would achieve the amount of success it has. “I thought it was gonna be kind of like a hobby,” Berend said. “But my girls grew up in this. They’ve known this business forever, like the back of their hand. It’s just—it’s very rewarding to pass this on, to support our sta and their families and to help our brides.”
