3 gas line contracts move Old Settlers Park buildout along Three projects to reroute and expand gas lines associated with the Old Settlers Park buildout project will move forward after Round Rock City Council approved the contracts with Atmos Energy at its Nov. 7 meeting. About the project The Old Settlers Park buildout project began in September to renovate and expand the park. It is funded by 2023 voter-approved bonds and includes features such as a new Lakeview Pavilion. Work for the project started with the Lakeview event area, and construction will begin on the new tennis and pickleball courts in December. What’s next? Three contracts with Atmos Energy Company

Round Rock package theft program active Round Rock residents can utilize Opera- tion Front Porch for secure package pick up through Dec. 20. About the program Operation Front Porch is a free program to help prevent package theft by allowing residents to ship items to the Round Rock Police Department at 2701 N. Mays St. in Round Rock. Pick up is available 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Saturdays, while the program is running. The details Packages must be under 50 pounds, and the person picking up the package must have their name on the mailing label.

The main gas line will extend under Kenney Fort Boulevard to provide service to Rock ’N River Water Park and the new recreation center and administration center. A gas line that currently runs through the Multipurpose Complex will be rerouted. Still under design, the cost of the three projects totals almost $1.6 million.
