1 1093 Rails to Trails Project: The project will transform a section of the railroad’s right of way into a hub of connectivity between suburbs and more rural areas, creating an area where visitors and residents can explore the area without ever having to get into a vehicle. Update: Project officials will soon release a request for proposal to salvage existing rail along the trail, which will provide needed seed money to launch trail development. • Timeline: TBD • Cost: TBD • Funding source: TBD 2 West side drainage project Project: The project continues post-Hurricane Harvey drainage improvements on the city’s west side including the realignment of Franz Road near Magnolia Cemetery. Update: At a Jan. 26 meeting, Katy City Council unanimously approved a $4.2 million construction contract with Pinehurst-based AAA Asphalt Paving Inc. • Timeline: March 9-January 2027 • Cost: $4.2 million • Funding source: city of Katy

3 Snow Goose Trail Project: The city of Katy will begin construction of its citywide trail system in 2026 from the future Leyendecker Landing Park to Historic Town Square. Phase 1 of the project will create a 12-foot concrete trail from Morton Road to 10th Street. Update: City officials announced the name Snow Goose Trail in honor of the area’s heritage at the Jan. 29 State of the City event. • Timeline: TBD • Cost: $1.9 million (Phase I) • Funding source: city of Katy parks bonds and Katy Development Authority
