SWIMMING SAFETY TIPS

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning is the leading cause of injury and death for children ages 1-4. City of New Braunfels ocials recommend all children be accompanied by an adult while on the river, and everyone is encouraged to use a life jacket.

DROWNING DEATHS IN TEXAS Drowning-related deaths have decreased slightly over the past ve years, according to data from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

WATER SAFETY

The New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department and area tubing outtters oer life preservers at no cost. Due to strong currents around the tube chute, the parks department recommends weak swimmers wear life jackets.
