Oak Ridge North hires new police chief Oak Ridge North City Council approved hiring new Police Chief Kenneth Foulch at the July 14 meeting. What to know Council members approved Foulch in a 7-0 vote after a recommendation from City Manager Heather Neeley. Foulch was previously a lieu- tenant with the Huntsville Police Department. “We did an extensive search where we met with a panel of law enforcement, local law enforcement leaders, and that was stage one. We then went to city directors and then to, ultimately, City Council. Mr. Foulch had all of the things that we were looking for,” Neeley said. Lone Star College OKs $548M budget Lone Star College System’s board of trustees passed a balanced budget of $548 million for scal year 2025-26 on Aug. 7. The gist The budget includes $34.95 million in total new revenue, according to a presen- tation by Chief Financial O†cer Kristy Vienne. Budget priorities for FY 2025-26 include $9 million for a 3% employee compensation adjustment, $1.9 million for the Magnolia Center and $321,000 for a new bachelor’s degree program, according to the presentation. Later this year, LSCS o†cials expect to propose a total tax rate of $0.1060 per $100 valuation for FY 2025-26, which is lower than the FY 2024-25 tax rate of $0.1076 per $100 valuation.
