Our Federal Government has a spending problem, and as we watch that continuously play out in real time it’s important to remember that the best way to achieve financial freedom on an individual basis is to avoid having a spending problem. Simply put, don’t spend more than you make. Having helped people save and invest for 40 years, it is clear that folks who are able to control their spending have the best chance of attaining financial freedom. Investments can grow your money but are no match for debt. Inordinate amounts of consumer debt will overwhelm investments and almost guarantee failure for those seeking financial success. Stop overspending, save, and invest. Financial freedom will follow.
