$120M authorized for road bond projects A total of $120 million is set to be available for road bond projects across Montgomery County by July 24, according to an update presented to commissioners June 10. Voters approved a $480 million bond measure on May 3. What you need to know Budget Director Amanda Carter on May 27 presented a plan allowing commissioners to fund 2025 road bond projects through a mix of existing county funds as well as commis- sioner road and bridge funds. Commissioners on June 10 authorized a resolution allowing them to spend no more than $12.5 million in total from county funds to provide a †nancial bu‡er between bond issuances.

Directors also approved adding a new priority to the existing ad hoc committee on economic development to focus on improving pedestrian mobility in the Town Center area. It’s a lot on one person to do with sta‡,” board Chair Brad Bailey said. “It’s one of our biggest spends that we have, and I think we all agree that public safety is our most important issue.”
