Slack said the desire to provide generational wealth for his family is what drives him to seize upon every opportunity. He said he is keenly aware of institutional racism that predisposes certain people for success and leave others at a disadvantage. “It’s really kind of sad what is going on in today’s community,” he said. “A lot of situations could have been changed if the setup was right.” Slack said he has big dreams for the future of Tasty’s. A location in The Colony is coming soon, followed by four more locations over the next 18 months. After the rst ve locations, Slack intends to open up the business to franchisees.

Following his move to Texas, Slack branched out and now has a hand in several businesses, includ- ing an apparel store, a talent booking agency and, nally, Tasty’s Chicken, which debuted in Plano in 2019.
