EMPOWER CHILDREN 1 Eanes Education Foundation’s mis- sion is to seek nancial support for Eanes ISD within the community to sustain dis- trictwide programs and help fund teacher and sta positions. Volunteer opportunities include social- izing animals, marketing and media, and more. Volunteers are required to attend a training session and commit to six hours a month, but members of the public are welcome to walk socialized “green-dot” dogs without any required training. Its mission is to spread goodwill by incorporating animal therapy with children. Red Arena serves children and adults with disabilities through physical, occupational or speech therapy sessions while on horseback; therapeutic riding lessons; job training programs; mental health services; and a free Red-y to Read program. Volunteers can groom horses, fundraise and walk beside riders. 11 Colin’s Hope raises water safety awareness to reduce drowning deaths. The nonprot organization was formed in 2008 after 4-year-old Colin Holst drowned in a public pool. The volunteer organization services those within the boundaries of Lake Travis ISD. The ministry meets Wednesdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m.-noon.
