O cials with the Baylor Scott & White hospital system celebrated doubling its Round Rock hospital’s capacity at a ribbon cutting ceremony Jan. 13. This comes just two years after BSW broke ground on the expansion project, which added to the total number of beds at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Round Rock. In the last ve years, the hospital has observed a 30% increase in hospital and clinic visits, and a 40% rise in newborn deliveries, according to the hospital system. The ceremony marked partial completion of the project, which still has a few smaller pieces to be done. Round Rock hospital expands
Why it matters
The expansion comes as the area is experiencing high levels of growth, Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell said. “The reality is, we have over 4,000 new residents a month moving into Williamson County, Texas,” Gravell said. “We have over 700,000 residents. We live in one of the fastest growing regions, not only in America but in the world.” With some small parts of the project left to complete, the expansion is expected to reach nal completion by the end of 2026, said Jay Fox, Austin-area president for BSW.

• A new neonatal intensive care unit • An expanded labor and delivery unit • New procedural areas • Additional operating suites • Updates to common areas • Laboratory and pharmacy expansions
