Owned by sisters Sheira and Valeria Argote, the fruteria oers horchatas, paletas, fruit- lled pastries, fresas con crema and other desserts and beverages. Sheira said the sisters wanted to put a modern twist on traditional Mexican treats and snacks. “What sets us apart is we’re from a younger generation and we wanted
to play around with the recipes,” she said. “It’s a lot of sugar and sweets,
