ichelle and David Gri th said they have specialized in window coverings and home interiors for more than 45 years. From linens and bedding to shutters and draperies, the Gri ths found their niche early on. “We know the do’s and don’ts of the industry—from design, to point of sale, to installment,” David said. Over the years, the Gri ths have worked with a menagerie of clients, including professional athletes, artists, socialites and major hotel corporations, such as the Lego Land resort in Carlsbad, California. When the couple relocated to Georgetown in 2013, they planned to retire. However, they ended up doing contract work for clients including Sun City. After a few years of freelancing, Michelle and David’s son Grady proposed that they go into busi- ness for themselves. The family established Home Town Window Coverings in March 2022.
Roman shades : A Roman shade is a popular window covering style that features soft drapes or crisp folds of fabric when the shade is lifted. They use a pull cord or a continuous cord loop to raise and lower the fabric.
The Gri ths announced in June that Grady would take over management of the company, but Michelle and David will still be heavily involved. Moving forward, the Gri ths hope to establish a good reputation within the Georgetown community. “We are very conscientious of our customers and are willing to do the work,” Michelle said. “Our goal is to build rapport so that we can operate on referrals.” Home Town Window Coverings o ers Hunter Douglas products as well as customized solar shades, wood blinds, valances, draperies and bedding. Grady said depending on product selection and scope of the project, estimates can range from $200-$8,000. “Our big deal is we want to be ‘hometown,’” Grady said. “We want to stay around this region, and stay true to a quality product at a quality price.”
