Austin Trail of Lights unveils 2023 event

• Dec. 6, 4-6 p.m. • Free (admission) • Leander Public Library, 1011 S. Bagdad Road, Leander • www.leandertx.gov/library Liberty Hill Christmas Festival Hosted by the city, this event culminates in a Christmas parade down Main Street. Other activities include shopping from artisan and food vendors, enjoying live music, playing in snow, and visiting with Santa and Mrs. Claus. • Dec. 9, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (festival), 6 p.m. (parade) • Free (admission) • Downtown Liberty Hill • www.experiencelhtx.com Pancakes & PJs The pajama party will include a hot breakfast, Christmas crafts and a visit from Santa. Getting in • Free general admission is open to all from 7-10 p.m. Dec. 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 19. • General admission is free for children under age 12 and $8 for those age 12 and older on all other nights; the trail will be closed on Mondays. • The $25 ZIP passes provide early access to the trail and include the ZIP Lounge stocked with cookies and cocoa. • The $95 platinum passes offer early access to the trail, the private Platinum Lounge and restrooms, valet parking, a golf cart shuttle to the trailhead, a drink ticket and a ride ticket.

Tree Lighting & Santa’s Wonderland Cedar Park Parks and Recreation will light the Heritage Oak Tree for the holiday season with more than 50,000 lights. This year’s event will also celebrate the city’s 50th anniversary. Other activities will include a snow hill, giveaways, live music, food vendors, face painting and crafts. • Dec. 1, 6:30-9 p.m. • Free (admission) • Heritage Oak Park, 875 Quest Parkway, Cedar Park • www.cedarparktexas.gov Winter Wonderland Festival Hosted by Mrs. Amy’s Adventures Preschool, children will have a chance to meet Santa, take a polar plunge, enjoy holiday music and enter ra’es.

What started in 1965 with a small gathering around a yule log has transformed into a holiday tradition for thousands each year with more than 2 million lights, 96 lighted holiday trees, and over 70 other holiday displays and lighted tunnels illuminating Zilker Park. What to expect From Dec. 8-23, visitors will walk through about 2.5 miles of lights throughout the event. The Trail of Lights Ferris Wheel and Carousel are both popular rides, and Santa Claus can be found in his house each night from 6-9:30 p.m. Food and drink vendors will be scattered throughout the trail. Additionally, visitors will also have the chance to roast s’mores at designated areas along the trail and see live entertainment at the Zilker stage.

Old Town Christmas Festival With the theme “A Classic Christmas,” this year’s festival will include the Old Town Rudolph Run 5K, a parade, school performances, a food court, vendors, games and the opportunity to meet Santa. • Dec. 2, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. • Free (admission)
