Liberty Hill ISD adopts new attendance zones Liberty Hill ISD has rezoned some students to attend new campuses next school year. The LHISD board of trustees approved atten- dance zones for the 2026-27 school year at a Feb. 16 meeting. The rezoning comes as LHISD prepares to open four new campuses over the next two school years. The details Lariat Trails Elementary is slated to open in the Lariat neighborhood in North Liberty Hill in August. In August of 2027, Saddleback Elementary is scheduled to open in the Saddleback at Santa Rita Ranch community in East Liberty Hill. Additionally, the district adopted new atten- dance zones for Legacy Ranch Middle School, which will open in August off CR 258.
Motal officially named LHISD superintendent At the Feb. 16 meeting, the LHISD board officially named Travis Motal as the district’s new superintendent. What's happening Motal has served as interim superintendent since April following the resignation of former Superintendent Steven Snell. The board named Motal as the superinten- dent lone finalist in December following a statewide search process. Over the last six years, he has served as the district’s chief of schools, director of second- ary education and principal of Liberty Hill Junior High. Motal told Community Impact he wanted to finish rezoning campuses and implement initiatives funded by the district’s tax-rate election that passed in November.
