McKinney | April 2025

Dear Fellow McKinney Residents, Serving as your mayor for the past eight years has been the honor of a lifetime. I’m deeply proud of what we’ve built - together. From becoming the #1 housing market in the country to being recognized once again as one of the Best Places to Live in America… we’ve made real progress. We lowered the tax rate by 29%, keeping our effective tax rate 73% lower than the previous eight years. We doubled our commercial tax base and sales tax revenues and brought exciting events like the Byron Nelson to McKinney. It has been quite a ride, and I want to thank you for sharing this journey with Maylee and me! Mayor George Fuller

My Take on the Mayoral Candidates

Matt Rostami I know Matt and appreciate him and the unconventional energy he has brought to the race. However, Matt has not yet been involved in or engaged enough with our community to be prepared. Though I encourage my friend to stay engaged, I do not believe it is his time. Taylor Willingham has never voted in a local election. Not once. You can’t ask to lead a community you’ve never cared enough to vote for. That kind of disengagement isn’t just a red flag—it’s a dealbreaker. Scott Sanford has a record McKinney can’t afford. As Texas House Representative, Scott passed many bills that have cost our taxpayers millions of dollars in lost revenues while forcing taxpayers to subsidize unchecked, high- density development. He believes developers should have the “right” to build thousands of apartments - without any city oversight, without contributing park land, without paying for roads, police, fire or libraries. He literally supports current taxpayers to carry that burden for the benefit and profit of developers. Scott championed centralized state power, supporting laws that strip McKinney of its ability to govern itself and protect its unique character. He is a good man, but one that has worked against McKinney his political career in Austin. Bill Cox is a 3 generation resident that brings vast local experience, long-term community service, and an unwavering belief in the people of McKinney. His entire adult life, Bill has invested his time and heart into our city. He’s served on City Council, Planning & Zoning, Chairman of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, where he advocated for small businesses in our community, supports the McKinney Education Foundation, Life Path Systems, Meals on Wheels, served as chairman on the Collin College Foundation Board of Directors, and is a 30-year Rotarian. He’s shown up consistently—not just when it’s election season. He believes developers should follow the rules in place, and we should not bear their burden. Bill Cox IS McKinney! rd Join me, the McKinney Police, Fire, McKinney Team Business Leaders and the Texas Realtors in supporting BILL COX for MAYOR nd we should
