First phase of Lakeline Park to open this summer Lakeline Park Phase 1 is set to open this summer, according to the city. The park will be located on 200 acres between Bell Boulevard and Little Elm Trail. Construction began in August, and nal work includes installation of water, sewer line and erosion control, site work clearing and excavation. Phase 1 will include a multipurpose performance pavilion, 3 miles of trails, a great lawn, a shing pier, pavilions, multipurpose practice elds, a cricket eld and 64 acres of wildower meadows. The lawn area will seat about 3,000 and other grassy areas can seat about 7,000 people for events, according to the city. The $10.3 million project is funded through general obligation bonds, Type B community development funds, parkland dedication funds, utility funds and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department grant funds.

New library to break ground in fall

Construction on a new Cedar Park Public Library is expected to start in fall 2022 in the Bell District. The new public building will feature indoor and outdoor spaces for community programs. Updated designs were presented to Cedar Park City Council on Nov. 18 from Lake Flato, the hired architecture rm for the project. The project will be funded through 2015 voter-approved bonds.

The library will be surrounded by a courtyard, Cluck Creek, The Backyard social hub, a parking garage, residential buildings and retail space. City Council voted to increase the scope of the library design in August to allow for more space based on public engagement and a space programming exercise. The exterior of the two-story building will include a second-oor reading porch above the entry.
