$5.27M Agnes Street project continues Bastrop officials said work on a $5.27 million project to extend and expand Agnes Street is nearing completion. The project broke ground Feb. 15. Why it matters The roadway will expand from two lanes to four, providing a direct route from Home Depot to Walmart and easing congestion for nearby residents and businesses, City Manager Sylvia Carrillo-Trevino said.

Zooming in During a meeting on Aug. 12, Bastrop City Coun- cil approved an $88,000 engineering professional services contract with The Goodman Corporation for a Blakey Lane roundabout redesign related to a planned intersection. Public Information Officer Colin Guerra said there were no other updates at this time.

The Blakey Lane project will extend Blakey Lane from Ed Burleson Lane East to a proposed street called Reed Way, connecting to Old Austin Highway. Work will include associated water, wastewater and stormwater improvements.
