Council OKs artist, mural for Fire Station No. 3 Celina’s incoming re station will soon feature a mural. Celina City Council members approved the art project and its artist during a Feb. 13 meeting. The nal mural is expected to be slightly dier- ent from the concept, namely because Celina’s re department started with volunteers and would not have worn the uniforms depicted in the black-and- white half of the mural, council member Brandon Grumbles said. “Put a little cowboy hat on [the reghters in the mural], and you’ll be alright,” Grumbles said. Diving deeper The mural was a chance to test out the city’s Public Art Selection Process pilot program since its approval in September. Prosper updates no-parking rules

A special event ordinance will now allow Prosper police to enforce no-parking zones going forward, ocials said. Prosper Town Council members added a new parking-specic section to the town’s ordinance regarding special events and temporary outdoor seasonal sales during a Feb. 13 meeting. The main takeaway The new section specically addresses congestion caused by temporary parking for special events, according to a statement included in meeting documents. “You can imagine if cars are parked willy-nilly, or blocking personal property or whatever, it could be a safety issue as well,” Parks and Recreation Director Dan Baker said. “You can’t get emergency services in.”
