MISD greenlights raises for all employees in 2025-26 pay plan The Magnolia ISD board of trustees approved its 2025-26 compensation plan at a special board meeting June 10, according to a June 10 news release from MISD. The plan includes pay raises for all district employees. “This year’s plan reflects our board and admin- istration’s appreciation for the dedication of our staff, especially our veteran teachers, and our commitment to maintaining competitive compen- sation across all employee groups,” the district stated in its release. Breaking it down The 2025-26 compensation plan includes: • Minimum raise of 4% for all staff, including nurses, counselors, librarians, administrators and school resource officers

Tomball ISD approves bond-related items Tomball ISD trustees approved items related to the 2025 bond June 3. Current situation In 6-1 vote, trustees approved Lockwood, Andrews and Newnam as the construction and project manager for 2025 bond projects, allowing TISD’s chief financial officer to move forward with pricing negotiations. Trustee Jennifer Kratky voted against based on the company’s financial support of a political action committee. In a 6-1 vote, TISD trustees also approved the selection of Huckabee Architects for the new Tomball Intermediate School, allowing the superintendent to finalize contract negotiations using 2025 bond funds. Kratky also voted against based on the company’s financial support of a PAC.

MISD said for all staff pay raises not included in House Bill 2, it would use local funds to fill any gaps in pay increases, per the news release. The district said expenditure efficiencies enabled MISD to approve raises for all employees.

LSC expects $21M in unallocated funds for FY 2025-26

Lone Star College proposed FY 2025-26 budget highlights

Lone Star College System officials said at a June 5 workshop meeting they will have $21 mil- lion in funds remaining to allocate for their priorities in the 2025-26 fiscal year after other revenue and expenses are accounted for. Officials said that will help to account for uncertainties such as the status of undocu- mented staff and students, and how that could affect the college financially.

The gist LSCS officials are expecting a tax rate of $0.1076, per $100 valuation, which is the same as the previous year. Tuition will not be raised for the 2025-26 fiscal year, officials said. What’s next LSCS trustees will consider formally adopting the budget Aug. 7 and adopt a tax rate Oct. 2.
