Flower Mound residents, officials discuss sewers Flower Mound resident Shirley Smith said she likes her septic system and doesn’t envision connecting to any sewer line system within the town of Flower Mound. Smith lives on Sunrise Circle and said she doesn’t want any change, as town officials contem- plate creating a sewer line extension to her area where people use septic systems. “There’s no reason to put that [extension] because most of the people out there can’t afford to hook into it,” she said. “It would take so much money for them to hook into it. A lot of people out there get such small amounts of [Social Security] money a month.” Smith and some other Flower Mound residents, including those who live on Sunrise Circle, met with town officials Oct. 5 at a public hearing to discuss the issue. Highland Village replacing waterlines A project replacing old waterlines within the city of Highland Village is expected to last approximately 180 days, according to City Manager Paul Stevens. Project specifics include replacing the old drain lines with new PVC waterlines on Sandero Drive, Bexar Drive, Victoria Drive, Malibu Drive and Inca Place, Stevens said in a press release sent out on Oct. 6.
