Friendswood ups permit fees for residential, commercial buildings Those setting up properties in Friendswood will now face raised fees for permits, inspections, solicitations and towing after the city approved increases. What you need to know Friendswood City Council voted to increase several fees at its March 3 meeting, citing that many of the fees had not been updated in decades and that there was a need to pay for increased staff time spent conducting inspections. The old fees were last updated in 1995, Director of Community Development Aubrey Harbin said. Documents show the new fees are based in part on what surrounding cities are charging. City Manager Morad Kabiri said the increases could help reduce the burden on taxpayers.
