2 Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital The hospital is set to celebrate its 45th anniversary in the Katy community this November, ocials said. The 303-bed facility oers a range of services and specialties including digestive health, physical therapy and surgical services. Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital milestones 1981: Katy Hospital opened with 80-beds on Pin Oak Road 1999: Became Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital 2006: Relocated to current campus o of I-10 and opened a new 142-bed facility and Medical Plaza 1 2009: Became a LifeFlight base 2015: Opened Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center in Katy 2016: Opened Medical Plaza 2 and the East Tower, increasing inpatient bed count to over 200 2018: Introduced Pediatric Emergency and Inpatient Services 2019: Opened the Memorial Hermann Sports Park - Katy 2023: Achieved Magnet recognition 2025: Completed the second expansion, increasing the inpatient bed count to 303 The hospital also expanded its stroke care capabilities with the addition of 24/7 mechanical thrombectomy, a lifesaving treatment that dramatically reduces the risk of death and permanent disability in patients experiencing an ischemic stroke.

The hospital, which opened in 2011, oers a number of pediatric subspecialties, including:
previously served as the CEO and senior vice president of Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital, replaced outgoing CEO Wayne Voss, who is retiring after nearly two decades of service.

Marc L. Boom, president and CEO of Houston Methodist, said Little is the “perfect t” for the role as he returns home to the Katy area. “I can’t wait to see all he’ll accomplish in his new role, as he will help us continue to provide the same high level of service those in the growing west Houston community expect from us,” Boom said. In late 2025, the hospital also expanded its gastrointestinal care with the launch of a third- space endoscopy program. The minimally invasive digestive procedures allow doctors to treat specic esophageal, stomach and colorectal conditions without conventional surgery. Instead, doctors will perform the procedures inside the digestive tract using a exible tube with a camera and a specialized tool. Since there are no surgical incisions, patients can potentially endure less pain, have shorter recovery times and spend fewer days in the hospital compared to standard surgery

The 64-bed hospital features eight operating rooms, two minor procedure rooms and a dedicated special procedure suite, allowing families to access complex pediatric care closer to home. “For 15 years, Texas Children’s Hospital West has demonstrated our commitment to bringing exceptional pediatric care closer to home for the patients and families we serve,” said Dr. Debra F. Sukin, president and CEO of Texas Children’s. “We are constantly evaluating how we elevate and expand our pediatric subspecialized care to the growing population of west Houston and its surrounding Harris, Fort Bend and Waller counties.” Texas Children’s West milestones 2016: Helipad activated for fast air transport of critical pediatric patients with Texas Children’s Kangaroo Crew. 2018: First ECMO cases, a form of life support, and Texas Children's Urgent Care launched to broaden pediatric services. 2019: Sleep Center expanded, becoming one of the nation’s largest for children. 2021: Opened a multidisciplinary Pain Clinic.
The hospital began pursuit of Level II trauma designation in July 2025.
The hospital oers more than 200 beds and access to innovative medical and surgical care.
