1 Grand Parkway primacy Project: The 26-mile extension from south Sugar Land to Hwy. 288 near Rosharon aims to improve commute times for residents. Update: At a May 14 meeting, Fort Bend County commissioners voted to give the Texas Department of Transportation primacy on Segments C1 and C2, as well as the unbuilt portion of Segment D of the Grand Parkway project. • Timeline: TBD • Cost: TBD • Funding source: TxDOT
2 Katy Hockley Road widening Project: The project will widen the existing two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane undivided concrete roadway. Update: CenterPoint Energy will relocate two natural gas mains this summer before concrete paving can begin. • Timeline: September 2025-March 13, 2027 • Cost: $9.5 million • Funding source: Katy Development Authority
3 West Downtown streets reconstruction Project: The project will reconstruct First through Fifth streets from FM 359 to Wallis Street. Update: The project is 70% complete with design, although the beginning of construction hinges on the timeline of the Wallis Street reconstruction. • Timeline: May 2025-fourth quarter 2026 (design) • Cost: $680,373 (design) • Funding sources: city of Fulshear and County Assistance District No. 7
