The cheese is served with accoutrements, such as fruit, jellies, nuts and crackers. 2 Nashville hot chicken sliders ($16): These sliders are made with house batter, Nashville-style hot sauce, cabbage slaw and pickles. 3 Berry and burrata salad ($16): This salad features local greens, fresh berries, quinoa, walnuts, burrata and honey-lime vinaigrette. 4 Spicy mango margarita ($14): This margarita includes Dobel Diamante “Jane Barrel,” orange liqueur, mango, pineapple and jalapeno.

Jane Southlake establishment serves coee, cocktails, wine and food B rothers Mo and Karim Noorali had zero restaurant experience when they opened Jane in August 2021. The coee and wine bar features charcuterie boards, sliders, tacos, salads, meatballs and more. “I’ve never worked in hospitality in my life, let alone [owned] anything in hospitality, but I always had interest in it,” Mo said. “It always had an important part of my life, no matter where I’ve been or what I’ve done, whether in New York City eating in restaurants or entertaining clients.” Mo, a Colleyville Heritage High School graduate, lived in New York for 15 years and moved back to the area in 2018. He said he often ate at restaurants in Park Village Southlake and noticed there were many ne-dining places and fast-casual restaurants in the area but nothing in between. “I saw this space and kept walking by it and came up with this idea,” he said. “The concept was wrapped around being like a hotel lobby bar.” Mo said Jane was originally going to be a coee bar during the day and wine bar at night. However, because of guests’ requests, the eatery has also become a lunch spot and cocktail bar, and brunch is served on weekends, he said. The brothers, with help from family members, came up with the menu and hired a local chef con- sultant to create the recipes. They have since hired Chef Brooke Elizondo, who added some original items and created the breakfast and brunch menus. When kicking the idea around to open a restau- rant, Mo said he chose the name based on a street he lived on in New York City. He said he thought it was a just a placeholder, but the name stuck. Now, when he walks through his business, he said he often scratches his head wondering how they pulled it o. “But it’s nice,” Mo said. “[It is] an energetic feeling to see it come to life.” BY KAREN CHANEY
