Tomball ISD approves $647K for Creekside Park Tomball ISD approved $647,120 for furniture items from School Specialty at its Oct. 21 meeting using bond 2021 funds for the district’s Creekside Park Junior High School addition. Remember this? Creekside Park Junior High School is currently undergoing work that will include a two-story addition for fifth graders in the 2026-27 school year at a cost of $39 million. The project is part of TISD’s bond package that passed in 2021. The junior high school addition is still in prog- ress, TISD Chief Financial Officer Zack Boles said at an Aug. 11 workshop meeting. It’s anticipated to be completed in August 2026, according to previous Community Impact reporting. Board President Michael Pratt said for sim- plicity, the district refers to the project site as Creekside Park Complex in the agenda, which he
Special election set for Senate District 4 A special election will be held May 2 to fill Texas Senate District 4, Gov. Greg Abbott announced Oct. 16. The seat became vacant when former Sen. Brandon Creighton resigned from the legislature to lead the Texas Tech University System. What you need to know Prospective candidates have until March 3 to file to appear on the special election ballot, according to the governor’s proclamation. On Oct. 2, Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon resigned from his position to run for Senate District 4. Other candidates had not been announced as of press time. Whoever wins the special election will serve the remainder of Creigh- ton’s term, which runs until January 2027.

Also on the agenda At the Oct. 14 meeting, the board also approved the selection of PBK Architects as the architectural firm for the multiprogram activity centers at Tom- ball High School, Tomball Memorial High School and Tomball West High School. The 6-1 vote allows Boles to finalize contract negotiations using 2025 bond funds. Work on the multiprogram activity centers is projected to begin this year, according to a TISD presentation on the 2025 bond projects.
