Newcomer Adam Lamb defeated three other candidates to win the The Woodlands Township board of directors Position 6 seat on Nov. 4, receiving nearly half of the vote. There were no incumbents in the race, as Position 6 incumbent Ann Snyder did not seek reelection. The township board elections are determined by a plurality of the vote, meaning it does not hold runoff elections in cases where a candidate receives less than 50% of the vote. Lamb received 6,364 votes, or 48.66% of votes cast in the election, while among other candidates, Maria Holmes received 4,109, or 31.42% of votes, Allan Bounds received 1,754, or 13.41% of votes, and Philip Ikharebhore received 852, or 6.51% of votes. consulting work in health care and other fields as well as starting his own companies, said running for the position was a new challenge. “It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done; it was a new thing,” he said. Lamb said he enjoyed meeting people during early voting outside the Kevin Brady Library and Community Center, where other candidates also congregated in the days leading up to the election. Positions 5 and 7, which also have terms ending this year, are currently occupied by incumbents Shelley Sekula-Gibbs and Cindy Heiser, respec- tively, who sought reelection. They received 9,646 and 9,780 votes, respectively.
