ahead of the campus’ opening in 2026. The area is expected to see heightened tra c as Legacy Ranch will serve around 2,500 students once it is built out, Snell said. The new road’s impact goes beyond the district as drivers can now travel directly from US 183 to Ronald Reagan Boulevard, Williamson County Precinct 2 Commissioner Cynthia Long said. “Those are two of our major north-south road- ways, so being able to easily connect between the two roads makes things easier for the traveling public,” she said.

Detailed design for the Hero Way road improvements project in Leander is now scheduled to wrap up this summer after initially being planned for completion by the end of 2023. The gist Phase 1 of the project—a three-lane frontage road from 183A to Garey Park and realignment to RM 2243—is anticipated to begin this fall, o cials said.

Williams Drive diverging diamond, I35 work nears end

The Texas Department of Transportation completed the nal tra c con guration for the Williams Drive diverging diamond interchange as well as the accompanying I-35 north- and south- bound frontage roads in Georgetown in December. After over three years of construction, the project is expected to wrap up this spring, TxDOT Communications Manager Brad Wheelis said.

What’s next The remaining steps of the project include con- struction crews continuing to install lighting, place drainage systems and create shared-use paths along the frontage roads and Williams Drive. Additionally, the Williams Drive bridge will be painted, which will require temporary lane closures, Wheelis said.
