As a burger connoisseur, Kretzschmer’s personal favorites are the classic cheeseburgers and the catsh. “That’s where it all started from,” he said. “We do ours dierent because we smoke them.” Kretzschmer said he hopes to acquire a Kretzschy’s Cajun BBQ food truck someday and is eyeing expanding to Denton. With so many barbecue and Cajun cuisine spots in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Kretzschmer said what makes Kretzschy’s dierent from the others is the love he puts into the food. “I like people to be happy with food,” he said. “That’s my passion.”

Kretzschmer’s father, Steve, opened Kretzschy’s in Lewisville in August 2020. The locally owned, family-operated restaurant is owned by Steve and his two sons, Brandon and Andrew. Kretzschy’s merges Louisiana Cajun avors with Texas barbecue. Its menu features large portions of its oerings, including smoked meats, burgers, po’boys and Tex-Mex as a few of the featured dishes. The
