A porch is available for guests to relax on at Circle R Ranch.

Jason Roberts started working at Circle R Ranch in 1997. He and his wife, Hilary Roberts, took over ownership of the business in 2017.

Circle R Ranch is situated on 50 acres in Flower Mound. Guests will see horses and longhorns roaming the pasture.

Circle R Ranch Flower Mound hospitality business celebrates 50th anniversary J ason Roberts was 20 years old when he started working at Circle R Ranch in Flower duo turned into a husband-wife team, and in 2017, Jason and Hilary Roberts became the owners and operators of Circle R Ranch.

Private corporate events , such as team building activities, family picnics and rodeos. Social events , including school banquets, charity fundraisers and weddings. Market days, held twice a year and open to the public, feature 60 local vendors and artisans.

Powdermaker changed the name to Circle R Ranch and in 1980 moved the business to its location on Cross Timbers Road in Flower Mound. Roberts said not much has changed through the years—except facility renovations as needed. “Our tagline is ‘Genuine Texas hospitality you can trust to wow any occasion,’” he said. “We can take a customer’s idea from the beginning and make it better or keep it simple.” Roberts said there are many reasons people visit Circle R Ranch. “We had Marine One land here with, at the time, President George W. Bush,” Roberts said. “He came for a charity event. He landed, shook hands and left.”

Mound in 1997. “As part of our company picnics, we do arena games, [such as] water balloon toss, egg toss and all that,” Roberts said. “I started o doing that during college, then became the production manager.” He said the following year, his girlfriend started working there as well. “She did a lot of our creative corner stu, like arts and crafts, that turned into working corporate events, bartending, managing events—the whole nine yards,” he said. Roberts provided a glimpse into the origin story of the business, which was started in 1973 by Alan Powdermaker, a former executive with Canada Dry. “[Powdermaker] attended an event at Ranch Land and thought they didn’t do the best job and thought he could do a lot better,” Roberts said. “He fell in love with it. He met the owner, talked to him, worked out a lease deal and took it all over. Our very rst group [we hosted] was [the] Eastman/Kodak [group] back in the lm days.”
