Hard Count Kitchen&Cocktails Business partners continue to grow restaurant empire H aving celebrated its rst anniversary in March, Hard Count Kitchen & Cocktails aims to be more than a traditional sports bar. BY HUNTER TERRELL

River near I-35. “When we had the chance to sign the lease here, we took it.” Delgadillo said. A corner space with a spacious patio, a full bar and an interior with immense natural lighting, Hard Count gives customers a comfortable but also rened experience. “We like to come in and design a space from the ground up,” Delgadillo said. “The kitchen, the front of house, that way it helps us curate a menu and what our business priorities will be. But because we didn’t have to do that, we were able to spend more time developing our sta.” Manager Michael Salazar has been with Hard Count since it rst opened. “I started as a server at 2020 Market until Delga- dillo asked me to come to Hard Count,” Salazar said. “I love coming to work. I love the food; I love the people; and I love my team.” Delgadillo said he also takes pride in the people he works with. “This is my team. ... We work hard together.” Delgadillo said.
“All our food is made from scratch,” Managing Partner Joey Delgadillo said. “Even though our cocktails are refreshing and top-shelf, our food is even more elevated and noteworthy.” Delgadillo started his culinary career as a chef before meeting friend and business partner Manuel Martinez in 2009. “We have been working together for a long time,” Delgadillo said. Prior to Hard Count, Delgadillo and Martinez opened 2020 Market Scratch Kitchen & Bar in Janu- ary 2020, which is located directly across the street. “This is a great up-and-coming neighborhood,” Delgadillo said. “There is a lot of potential for residents and business owners.” The restaurant’s location in the Summit at Rivery Park, an ongoing mixed-use development project next to the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center, overlooks the North San Gabriel
