As single-family residential development in The Woodlands is built out, the new projects focus on luxury multifamily residences and upscale amenities, Howard Hughes ocials said. “The Woodlands continues to attract innovative companies that are seeking to provide unique oerings to our community,” said Jim Carman, president of the Houston region for Howard Hughes. Amid new construction, however, some residents in The Woodlands have voiced concerns such as dust pollution and noise disturbances emanating from the Riva Row construction site. Chris Nunes, chief operations ocer for The Woodlands Township, spoke to the township board on Nov. 29, regarding complaints. Nunes claried the board’s limited regulatory inuence over commercial development to the township’s residents. “It doesn’t mean that this board doesn’t care about their concerns,” Nunes said. “It’s just a matter of what we have the ability to impact with the lack of regulatory ability of commercial development in this area specically.”
