As a teenager, owner Martha Nagel dreamed of owning her own record store one day. The backstory As she got older, Nagel said going to estate sales with her mom became a fun hobby. Since opening Crescent Moon in 2021, she enjoys sharing her passion with her daughter Marissa, who manages the store. “I really wanted Marissa to experience being able to work in a record store because I had so much fun. It was just the best time of my life,” Nagel said. The setup Crescent Moon features over 60 vendors that
oer a variety of collectibles including toys, clothes, antiques and jewelry. Nagel explained that vendors are given creative freedom to curate their section of items. Popular store items include nostalgic ‘80s and ‘90s toys like My Little Pony and Pokemon. The record store section is curated by Nagel and her daughter, and oers a wide range of music genres. What’s special about it? Nagel said she is proud to see a new generation becoming interested in vintage shopping. “It’s so awesome seeing entire families shop here,” she said. “Parents get to show their kids nostalgic items from their childhood and I love that.”
