Liberty Hill ISD purchases new devices, technology Liberty Hill ISD will spend about $3.5 million to purchase new laptops, upgrade iPads and Chrome- books, and install technology at new campuses after the board of trustees approved the bulk of the funding at a March 18 meeting. What you need to know Over $1 million will go toward replacing laptops for the incoming district freshman, said Scott Stansbury, LHISD executive director of technology. These devices have reached the end of their 5-year life cycle along with around 1,000 Chromebooks and 400 iPads. The new laptops are more expensive as they have more processing power and memory than the previous ones, which were not suitable for daily use, he said. The district will update Chromebooks and iPads to a newer version to better support online applications being used in classrooms.
District to open 18-plus special ed building Liberty Hill ISD will open a new $5 million facility for its age 18-plus program for special education students next school year by renovating an existing 13,359-square-foot building behind its administration building. The specifics The new facility will include classroom spaces; a residential and commercial kitchen; and technology, bedroom, living room and laundry learning centers.
