INSIDE INFORMATION Tournament sells out in 2nd year

BY MIRANDA JAIMES

“We came into the year knowing we were building on the momentum of our inaugural year ... in 2021, but you’re never really sure until you open the gates for full capacity fans exactly how the plan is going to work.” Drago said he and other tournament officials were pleased with the turnout. “The energy and the commitment of the community simply doesn’t do it justice,” he said in his statement. “Plans are already underway for 2023.”

TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney hosted the AT&T Byron Nelson golf tournament for the second time May 9-15. Last year, the golf tournament was limited to 10,000 people a day due to COVID-19, but this year the event sold out at about 30,000 tickets a day. “The 2022 tournament was every- thing that we could have imagined,” said Jon Drago, AT&T Byron Nelson tournament director, in a statement.
