Other improvements along the corridor are an- ticipated to occur simultaneously and are associated with the upcoming construc- tion of the H-E-B at the northeast corner of Eldorado Parkway and Custer Road. This work includes additional turn lanes into the H-E-B site along Eldorado Park- way and a new traffic signal east of Custer Road. Pending selection of a contractor, construction associated with the roadway widening is expected to begin in early summer and be completed in the spring or summer 2023. Timeline: July 2022-July 2023 Construction cost: $3 million (estimated) Funding sources: city of McKinney, private developers, McKinney Community Development Corp., city of Frisco ONGOING PROJECTS 3 US 380 traffic signal installation Construction of a new traffic signal at US 380 and the C & D Landfill driveway—ap- proximately 0.4 miles east of New Hope Road—has been approved by the Texas Department of Transportation and is expected to be operational at the end of June. The new signal will improve inter- section safety and allow for the safe flow of traffic at the landfill entrance. Timeline: April-July Construction cost : $300,000 Funding sources: city of McKinney, private developers Dallas North Tollway expansion The North Texas Tollway Authority is working on a nontolled, two-way frontage road that will run from FM 428 north to stop at FM 60. Initial construction throughout the sum- mer will occur on portions of A Wilson Creek Parkway and B Maverick Trail to reduce negative effects to adjacent schools over the summer months. Sec- tions of C Hardin Boulevard between Eldorado Parkway and McKinney Ranch Parkway, and D Airport Drive between US 380 and Enlow Road will be improved in late summer with other identified locations being improved through spring 2023. Inter- mittent lane closures will be required.
