Superintendent Robin Ryan to retire after 13-year tenure with Grapevine-Colleyville ISD

He also served in administrative roles in Carroll, Hurst-Euless-Bedford and San Angelo school districts. In 2018, he was named Region 11 Superintendent of the Year, the release stated. In the statement, GCISD Board President Casey Ford said the board values the progress made in the school system under Ryan’s leadership. “Dr. Ryan has been a tireless visionary for Grapevine-Colleyville ISD over the past 13 years,” he said. “Along with the board, Dr. Ryan has focused GCISD and its stakeholders on identifying and developing the

During its Sept. 26 meeting, the GCISD board of trustees approved Ryan’s last day as superintendent as Jan. 1, 2023. After 13 years with the district, Ryan is the second-longest serving superintendent in GCISD history. “The incredible level of commu- nity and district support we have experienced in GCISD has been a hallmark of our success,” Ryan said in a statement. “I am grateful for all of the board members over these last 13 years who have allowed me to serve GCISD.” Ryan has served in Texas public education for 38 years, the release

strengths and gifts of every child. This vision culminated in the single focused goal for all of our students to achieve success beyond high school graduation.” Under Ryan’s leadership as super- intendent, GCISD began iUniversity Prep, the district’s virtual school, and opened the Technology Education and Career Center. The district also began the Col- legiate Academy at Tarrant County College, the release stated. Ryan

will remain an employee of GCISD until Aug. 31, 2023, to assist with the transition of leadership. “I have been blessed to work with wonderful people at Grapevine-Col- leyville ISD,” Ryan said. “Our campus sta, support sta, teachers, lead- ership team and board of trustees deserve all of the credit for working together as a team for the success of our students. GCISD is a destination district and will continue to accom- plish great things in the future.”
